Short story...N. got out of his crib two times last night thus his crib was converted to a toddler bed. Long story below...
N. woke me up screaming at midnight. I rush to the door of his room and notice that the crying sounds like it's coming from a different location--I just knew than that he somehow fell out of his crib. When I got there, he was standing in the middle of his room with tears running down his face. I took him and held him and blinded us both by turning on the light, so I could make sure he was okay. He looked fine, so I put him back in his bed and hoped that it was a fluke and that it scared him so he wouldn't do it again. Needless to say I was on pins and needles all night and didn't sleep too well. S. heard him whine a little after 5--he went in and once again N. was standing in the middle of his room. S. came and got me, so we could figure out what to do. We go into his room, and S. tried to get N. to show us how he got of his bed, but he was too out of it and was a little confused. S. asked him if he fell on his head and he said yes and then kept pointing at his head, so who knows what happened. We decided to just put the mattress on the floor for the rest of the night and then tackle converting his bed later. I went back to bed, while S. couldn't sleep and was looking at the crib manual in the living room. A few minutes later, guess who had opened the door to his room and was walking into the living room-N. At that point, S decided to go ahead and convert his crib to a toddler bed since N. wasn't sleeping anyway so we all had a very early morning. Hopefully we won't have too many battles getting him to stay in his "big boy" bed. So far for nap time I haven't had any problems, but then again he didn't sleep well last night and was super tired. I know he's growing up, but I was not ready for him to be out of his crib yet.
Side note: so yesterday, I was telling S. I haven't been in a blogging mood since my life is not near as exciting as it once was, but N. most of heard and decided to do something about it:)
Totally worth blogging about! Glad he is okay.
ReplyDeleteKatie climbed out/jumped out of her crib when she was 2. She, too, landed on her head. Ended up with a concussion. Only time she tried getting out though.
ReplyDeleteColton started climbing out of his crib a few weeks ago. They have decided to forgo the toddler part of his crib set and go straight to the full size bed it becomes. They are also switching him to another room and turning his nursery into a play room.
I don't care how mundane it seems....keep blogging. It's a great way to be able to "see" N grow!
Colton was looking at pictures of the Reunion on my computer. He pointed at his buddy and said N's name.
