S. was able to take off work (with a little bit of working from home) for 2 weeks. We loved having him around. I got spoiled being able to run errands with only one or no children, and E. was spoiled always having someone to hold him while I got dinner or the boys ready for bed. We enjoyed a morning at the Children's garden at the arboretum together--the weather was shockingly cool for august!
In the tornado simulator...
Chillin' in the stroller...
N. chose his pjs for bed--he wanted to be in all atticus attire--Atticus loved blue and orange, so his pants are navy, but lined with orange--I told him he'd be hot in those pants, but after he came out wearing the shirt, I knew what he was up to--just remembering his friend. We miss and love you Atticus! You are talked of often in our house!
P.'s friend Ty's pajama and pancakes party!
These two hadn't been together all summer, but had a blast, and picked up right where they left off from preschool...I really wish they were together this year at school, but they go on different days.
Spending the night with oma--they love their macaroni and cheese
In opa's race car!
N. reading P. from his kindergarten monday journals...
We celebrated our anniversary this year with the kids--besides the kids are a part of our forever family too! We took the boys to waffle house since they keep asking to go and enjoyed some classic breakfast food and the waffle house experience!
My 3 boys ready for church....
Cindy spoils my boys--she got them some pretty sweet birthday presents--P. got a tool set complete with a belt and goggles and dry erase board(see below for N.)
Drew a silly face, then both of them were holding the board, so they could pretend it was their own face...
Love what kids come up with...Our doorbell for their pretend house made on their bunk bed. Come in please, but not bad buys!
I was feeling depressed about my bday this year--I just wanted to skip it this year. I've been tired with the new baby, life was crazy with the 3 kiddos, S.'s always busy with work and church, and I was leaving my 20s. Well, my sweet friends, whipped up a fancy birthday breakfast for me and spoiled me with a gift certificate for a pedicure and nothing bundt cakes. I felt loved and special. My husband worked from home that day, so we could catch lunch together, and N. & P. spent the day with my brother and his family. I relaxed with E., went to Target, and watched so you think you can dance! It actually ended up truly being my best birthday yet. Thanks for everyone who made it special even though I wanted to boycott it this year;)
E. actually slept in his carseat through our whole lunch--he strongly dislikes his carseat, so this was his bday present to me!
My handsome husband being a nerd...so side note--we ate at liberty burger(our first time), and I enjoyed the best shake I've ever had--caramel sea salt with lots of whipped cream. It was seriously delish!
Hanging with my boys and their cool sunglasses(well P. has mine on)...
P. feel asleep watching a movie, so I went to wake him up, but man he was out. It was probably a good thing he got a nap in though, because right at bedtime, he slipped while flushing the toilet and hit his chin, cut it pretty bad, and ended up at the ER getting 2 stitches.
Here's him at the ER...S. took him...they wrapped him up in a sheet(like a burrito--P.'s words), made it where his arms couldn't move, and strapped him to the bed. He stayed so still and was so brave. The nurse commented that if every patient was as good as him, his job would be easy. I guarantee you N. would have been terrible, but P. just takes what comes. He came home saying, "I'm a tough dude."
N. often comes out of his room about an hour after he goes to bed, and is out of it. This time, he just came and say next to me on the couch, so I snapped a picture. He was looking through pictures on my phone and was like, "Mom, when did you take this? I don't remember it."
Watching shows together....after a long school day apart...
P. is full of imagination...He had soccer socks on his arms(his work gloves), and was carrying around his tool box and his work bucket--he didn't want me to take a pic, so he ran towards the couch!
Fixing the couch...
N. ran off with my phone, and I found him on his bed, trying to take a selfie of him and P. with P. on his back. He was coaching P. which direction to move so he would be in the picture.
I took this one!
N.'s doing soccer again, but P. was highly entertained at this practice by a friends mom who was playing baseball with her 5 year old(his older brother plays soccer with N.). She was teaching him how to step then thrown, he was trying soooo hard. It was adorable to watch!
