state fair of texas...

We spent Tuesday afternoon/evening at the Fair.  S. was able to take a half-day at work so we took advantage of $3 admission with a Dr. Pepper can.  The food was yummy like always--fried oreos, fried frito pie, corn dogs, fresh lemonade, and texas potato twisters(we're lucky we ended up having to walk about 20 minutes to get to our car(b/c we walked out of a different exit) to help burn off some of those calories:).  N. had a blast watching the pig races and dog show as well as the petting zoo, car show exhibit, light parade, miniature trains, and watching all the crazy midway rides.  His favorite probably was sitting in and pretending to drive a jeep.  He's been a bit obsessed with them lately and didn't want to get out.  He kept saying "more jeeps, drive jeep."  We bumped into some friends at both of the shows we went too, and N. kept talking about all the friends he saw when we got home.  S. goes to the fair for the cars and food, but mostly the cars.  Cars are bit of an obsession for him--he's always watching Top Gear and random other car shows on tv and dreaming about all the cars he will one day have(but not really have).  It was actually quite amusing seeing how excited he got about the cars--he was giddy:)  Anyways, I'm glad I could spend a fun afternoon with my boys.
 Jeep Heaven for N.

Silly face...waiting for the parade to start
