My sewing attempts...

I'm been looking at all the sewing and crafting blogs out there and have really wanted to learn how to sew myself.  My mom and mother-in-law can both sew and quilt and both my sisters have been learning and have made some cute stuff.  Well I lucked out a few weeks ago when I was given a sewing machine by my mother-in-law via someone who gave it to her. I've sewed a few things before(curtains & pillows), but always with help.  So yesterday, I attempted my first "on-my-own" project, and it turned out pretty well.  I made a kids-sized apron.  (I found N. a small kitchen off craigslist for super cheap, and I'm getting him some kitchen items for Christmas.  I wanted to buy him an apron and realized there wasn't much at the store, and it was pretty expensive and not so cute, so I looked online and found a fairly easy pattern.)

So without further rambling, here's some pics on my very wiggly model(I'm planning on making N.'s out of this transportation fabric, but just gave it a try first with some clearance fabric)...I also added ruffles to my somewhat boring apron...
