I was able to go the this museum yesterday, while a friend babysat N. for me. It was really nice to go through a museum at my own pace and stop and read every little thing. The Holocaust has been something I've been interested in since I was in 5th grade when I read the Diary of Anne Frank. After reading that, I sought out any reading material I could get my hands on about the Holocaust. I'm not sure why I was and still am so interested in it, but I feel for all the Jews that went through this and wonder how anybody could do this to them.
This specific quote below stood out to me at the museum--all around it were beautiful pictures of families and individuals who were killed during the Holocaust:
They had homes and lives.
They had families and friends.
They had names.
The exhibit moved me to tears many times. I'm very grateful I could go to this museum.
did you see the new "diary of anne frank" - a masterpiece classic (2010)?
