More Jane Austen...

I went to the Morgan Library and Museum tonight with 2 wonderful friends.  We saw outstanding architecture and decor, art, and a huge collection of old and rare books, including 3 Book of Mormons dating from 1830, 1837, and 1840.  But the main reason we went was to see the Jane Austen exhibit entitled A Woman's Wit: Jane Austen's Life and Legacy.  We were able to see many of the letters she wrote her sister Cassandra, and many old editions of her books.  We also saw the manuscript of Lady Susan, the only surviving complete manuscript of any of her novels, and many pieces of art reflecting the time period in which she was alive, including a portrait of Jane Austen herself.  I loved being able to see her handwriting and getting a glimpse into her life.  Anyways, they have an online exhibition showing some of the things they have in the museum here if you're interested.
