Little bit of catch-up

So, I haven't written for a little while...we've been a bit busy, but we've been having fun.

S's brother flew in and stayed with us for a week.  He thoroughly explored NYC, mostly on his own, but we ventured out a few times with him.  We walked around the 9/11 site and Wall Street area, and then rode the Staten Island Ferry and saw the Statue of Liberty at sunset.  We also showed him a few of the parks around here--Washington Square Park and Union Square.  He went to all the major art museums, as well as the usual tourist attractions like Times Square, the Empire State Building, and the Brooklyn Bridge.  We also enjoyed staying up late talking--catching up on old times. Thanksgiving Eve(if that's such a thing), we went to go see the balloons getting inflated for the Parade.  There were tons of people and a huge line, so it took us forever even to see the balloons.  But I guess it was worth it, because N. enjoyed seeing the balloons.  Thanksgiving Day, S's brother ventured out to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, while I cooked our 1st Thanksgiving meal(we've always gone to our families before) except the turkey and mashed potatoes(our friends downstairs cooked those).  Then, we enjoyed a yummy meal with our friends and little family, before S's brother flew out that afternoon!
