*June 3rd-8th
We took a family vacation to Utah this year for S.'s brother's wedding. I haven't been to Utah since I was 12, and S. since he was 19. I have a lot of friends from Utah and our church is big there, so it was fun to go visit and show the boys some of the church sites, as well as the mountains. It was a whirlwind trip full of family, wedding to-do, meeting my new sister-in-law and her family, and the actual wedding and reception! So for starters, we took a 9pm flight and got into SLC after 11, by the time we got a rental car, and to Sarah's grandparents home, it was 1am. We were beat (not to mention this cutie-pie below didn't sleep at all). Sarah's sister, mom, and grandparents were all waiting up for us and made us feel right at home and welcomed. The grandparents spoiled us with homemade breakfasts, gave the boys anything they wanted, ironed my dress, and just were soooo sweet. So we spent the first day visiting S.'s Aunt Pat (his grandma's sister)--we met S.'s parents and his brother Michael and wife Aubrey and their little girl Macie who we hadn't seen since she was a few weeks old. On the way, we got rear-ended in our rental car--luckily it was drivable and no one was hurt, but still it was a huge hassle to deal with.
The happy little boy, waiting in the airport...wish I could say he was this happy the rest of the way
Visiting w/ Aunt Pat...
P. ate tons of snacks on our trip, but anything goes on vacation-right?
N. enjoying some uncle time
Wednesday, I went to the SLC temple to do a session with S.'s mom, while the boys drove up into the mountains and got to see snow in the middle of the summer. We then met up with S.'s friend from back in the day and his little boy for lunch and playtime at the park--I have to say I love Utah grass and used to make fun of my friends who complained about the grass here, but now I totally get it. Later that day, we went over to Sarah's families house and got to meet all of them. They were so welcoming especially to the boys. Sarah's a total sweetheart, and I'm so glad to have her as my new sister-in-law. Sarah helped them pick fresh strawberries from their back yard--they both ate a ton.
Thursday, we spent some more time in the temple with all of S.'s brothers and their wives and his parents. My friend, Cindy, happened to be up in Utah visiting her sisters so luckily she watched my boys for me in the morning, then we met up with them and got to chit-chat with her sister Stacie for a bit (it was really fun to see her in her stomping grounds), before heading back to Sarah's family's for wedding reception set-up.
Friday was the big day! Robert and Sarah were married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful wedding--we're are sooo happy for them.

N. posing...
Silly boy...
So Oma turned P.'s bowtie around so it wouldn't bug him, until he had to take pictures, so I love this one...
P. was all over the place at the reception, and I was chasing him around, while S. stood in the receiving line...For as long of a day/week they had, they honestly did really well, took a lot of little catnaps in the car, and waited to be a total terror until the airplane trip home...
N. took my phone and took a million pics (mostly of flowers, people's feet, and then he took pics of photos that were displayed)...
Love this face...
My crazies...
On the airplane ride home, we fell asleep right as we were landing--go figure...
Sometimes you do what you have to do--we were waiting for S. to go get the car from a lot outside of the airport--I needed the energy so I was drinking the DP, but P. kept wanting it, so he would just lick the top, so he barely got any, but it kept him happy, while we waited...
Fell asleep eating dinner that night...we were all so tired...
Anyways, a great trip full of family and memories for the boys!
