July randomness...

P. loves him some sunglasses...
Practicing our soccer skills on a rare cool July evening...

 Flying airplanes outside...
 Love this kid--looking so grown-up...
P. loves play-doh and doesn't try to eat it any more!
 N.'s long passenger train..
We went out to Ham's Orchards in Terrell for peaches and homemade peach ice cream with my mom...
 N. adores Mckenna...
I went to Ikea to buy a desk chair for N., and we came home with a bunk bed--crazy-huh?  N. loves it though, and when P.'s ready to move into a big boy bed, he will join him on the bottom bunk.  My parents were over and stayed to help us put it together.  Thank goodness for dads and papas who are good at putting stuff together, because Ikea stuff can be a bit time-consuming!
The finished product(it's not actually made as a bunk bed but as a loft bed, but online, I've seen people just put a mattress below.  I like the fact that it's not super tall, so hopefully no injuries will occur.)  McKenna was pouting because she is really hoping for a new bed, and she kept going on about how she wants a bunk bed too.
To get N. prepared for kindergarten this year (he doesn't like change, so I'm trying to warm him up to the idea), I took him on a date to go school supply shopping followed by lunch at chick-fil-a.  Cindy watched P. so N. and I could have some time with just the two of us.  We had fun...I can't believe this guy starts real school this year.
We love play-dates at friends's houses especially when you throw in a delicious lunch!
P. rockin' a helmet backwards of course...
Chowing down on a cupcake at a bday party at the pool...
Family dinner at S.'s parents involved pulling the electric train out for the first time--it was a big hit...
I finally made the 4th of July cake a couple weeks late--it was cute, but the frosting was a new recipe and it was not good...
Other july randoms...
...I hosted book club--we read The Cellist of Sarajevo, enjoyed yummy treats including homemade frozen yogurt and chocolate ice cream, and of course chit-chatted.
...I had a crazy reaction immediately following my allergy shots--I was at the office since they make you wait 30 minutes after your shots, just to make sure nothing happens, well all of the sudden I felt hot and itchy and my stomach started cramping really bad.  I ended up having to have a shot of epinephrine, was super shaky/jittery for about an hour.  It was pretty scary, and they had to monitor me for about 1 1/2.  Luckily the boys were so good and were looked after by the receptionists and nurses there--it was a huge blessing, especially since we were there for over 2 hours.
...I enjoyed a brunch date with friends--we got a few baby sitters for all of our kiddos, and went out--it was kinda fun leaving the kids midweek and doing something fun.
