McKenna stayed with us the week of the 4th of July since my mom was at girls camp for church. I was really sick the day night and day before, but luckily was able to recover enough to help the kids paint their 4th of July shirts and make it to the parade. I had a cute vision for these shirts--a flag with their handprint, but these kids decided to get creative and they loved them...
N.'s is a train, with a flag, stars, and his name painted messily on the sleeves...
McKenna's is a dinosaur holding a flag...
At the parade in Arlington (had awesome weather this year--wasn't hot at all in the shade)...
Showing some patriotic pride-waving his flag...
Excitement...
I had intended to make a layered red and blue cake for the 4th, but since I was sick before, I didn't get around to it, well Oma saved the day with cake and frosting from her freezer, which they put together and made a cute 4th of July cake--N. helped decorate it!
