this past week...

Just some happenings from our week...
  • family dinner--enjoyed a hot dog bar and 4th of July cupcakes
  • spent the day with Oma, while Opa changed the oil on my car at his shop
  • tried a new snow cone place called Bahama Bucks with friends--got my snow cone Bahama Rama Mama style--scoop of vanilla ice cream, then the snow cone, and topped with cream--yummy!  Then play-date and much needed chat time!

  • my sister and her little girl are staying with my family and came up for the day--we had fun catching up, shopping at Ross, and hanging out while the kids had fun playing in the wading pool and sprinkler
this is p. while the kids were outside enjoying themselves--screaming, not enjoying the heat...
  • play-date at chick-fil-a with 2 other moms and their boys--so much fun!!!
  • P. had his 1 month check-up.  He now weighs 9 lbs 4 oz, so he's chunked up a bit from last time and everything is looking good.  He's still really fussy and hard to calm down a lot.  We bought a baby swing which is helping a little bit.  He also has been sleeping a little bit better at night--he'll usually go 3 1/2 to 4 hours between feedings, so I am still at times craving sleep, but am able to fully function during the day.
  • Just something funny N. said... I was watching Color Splash on HGTV, and he was watching with me.  He really liked the paintings and furniture(it was a big semi-circle red couch), and kept saying, "That's amazing."  Then he starts looking around our living room and says, "Our house not decorated," then he looks around some more and says, "Our house is just brown-" referring to the wood paneling in our living room that I would love to get rid of.  I couldn't help but laugh!.
  • We had a roofing guy come check out our roof after seeing tons of roofing signs in our neighborhood and he says it's a total loss due to hail damage.  We had another roof guy come and he said it was fine.  We have an insurance adjuster coming, so who knows what he'll say.
  • We've also been having foundation problems--3 of our doors inside aren't shutting and there are cracks in two of our walls and cracks in bricks.  Hopefully it's just due to the drought, but S.'s been stressing out about it, so we have foundation people coming this week.  Owning a home is lovely:)
Anyways a fun, but busy week.  Being a mom of two is tough, but keeping busy and having other mom friends to talk and hang out with is the only thing that keeps me going!

sleepy time for p...
 painting in the kitchen...
 P. wearing his shoes for the 1st time...
I bought n. a spiral notebook and markers at Wal-Mart, and he was so excited to use them and wanted me to take a picture...

  1. Are you watering the foundation? You should be if you aren't.

Keeping the foundation watered will help prevent foundation problems.
