4th of July

I think 4th of July is probably one of my favorite holidays--it's casual and fun, full of good food, and full of family and friends.  We celebrated the whole weekend long.

Saturday was spent in Arlington with S.'s family.  We enjoyed the 4th of July parade and somehow the rain held off even though it looked like we could get soaked at any minute.  N. sat and watched the whole time.  He was so into all the cars, tractors, floats, and marching bands and would be the first to spot a train whenever it went by several blocks up the road.  Later we grilled hot dogs and steaks(from Omaha Steaks courtesy of S.'s work) that were really good and ate the most delicious homemade vanilla ice cream--N. even had fun cranking the ice cream maker.  We ended the night by seeing fireworks:)

Sunday, we went to church and then hung out with new friends from church for dinner.  There are about 5 families that live in our complex that we go to church with.  N. had so much fun playing with all of the other little kids.

S. had Monday off, so we decided to head down to Red Oak to hang out with my family.  N. played with McKenna all day.  The rest of us hung out, and I got a little bit of scrapbooking done.  Then we went out to Johnny Carinos for dinner.

Anyways, a very fun 4th of July weekend--I'll probably post pics later when I get them from S.'s mom.
