It's been a while...

We moved into a place of our own two weeks ago and have waited that long for the cable guy to come hook up internet and tv, so hence the long pause in blogging.  Anyways, just wanted to write some random things that have been happening and some thoughts.

*N. turned two.  I can't believe it.  We had a party for him with family, and he had so much fun playing with McKenna and his two cousins.  He loves all his presents(he was so excited to open them and loves to play with them)--he got a wooden train set, music cds(he constantly wants to have the stereo on while he plays), a flashlight from the show Hanny Manny(he loves shining it on the walls at naptime and bedtime), a car racing thing, and hot wheels cars with a handmade road playmat that Oma made--I'll try to post a pic of it later.  Party pics will be posted later too, because both my mom and S's mom took pictures on their cameras--I was too busy with the birthday boy:)

*My sister had her baby, and N. and I traveled down to College Station for the day with my family to see her.  She's so precious.

*We are finally settled into our place...it was a bit weird to unpack all our things that have been in storage for the past year.  There's still a few boxes of junk that I don't know what to do with.  Living in nyc makes you realize you don't need half the stuff that you do have.  I really like our new place and the layout of it--it has so much more space than nyc and it's so nice to have things like a laundry room, dishwasher, full-size oven, a double sink, and a living room that isn't also our bedroom and office area.

*It feels like I've spent that past two weeks running errands trying to get our pantry stocked and household things bought.  It seemed like I'd always get back from the store and realize an hour or two later something else I needed, but I have discovered a few new grocery stores that I like--Sprouts and Aldi.

*I still miss nyc.  I think I'm always going to miss it.  It was such an awesome place full of so much culture, and it's so beautiful.  I've been watching hgtv show's Selling NY and Design Star to get my fill of nyc, but sometimes it just makes me miss it more.  I also miss walking everywhere and all the fun playgrounds for n. to play at.  Here it's just too hot.

*S.'s been busy at work and had to travel a few times, so we miss him, but it's so much fun to have him home on the weekends.  N. is always so excited to see him when he gets home and gets to have some dad time before bed.

*I really like the area we live in--every store I could possibly need is within a few miles--including Joanns and Hobby Lobby...I have a year of scrapbooking to catch up on--yea, I'm excited to get crafty!

Me with baby Gracie...
On N.'s actual birthday, we played in some fountains and pools in Addison and ate ice cream at Coldstone.
