My random thoughts and going-ons

Our time is becoming short in the city, and I've been feeling kind of sad about it.  I will miss it.  Lately at night, once N. is in bed, I sit on the windowsill, while I read or journal, just gazing at the city at dusk.  It's beautiful and so relaxing to me.  It's how I wind down at night--my work with N. is done, and it's just me and all my random thoughts.  I finally bought N. and me the touristy I heart NY shirt...and I truly love NYC.  It feels like home to me now...although I still miss the family back in Texas.

I've felt a bit stressed about the prospect of packing and moving all of our stuff.  S. will be in the middle of finals, so I will have to do a lot of it myself.  His last exam (it's a take-home) is due at midnight on Wednesday, and we are flying home on Friday morning(May 14th).  There's also the fact that we have no idea where we are going to be living yet, but I need to have more patience and faith:)

I was able to enjoy some "me" time while S. watched little N. this past Friday.  I was able to go to the Manhattan LDS Temple and enjoy the peace that I always feel in the Temple.

N. has a cold/bad cough and also teething--his back molars are trying to come in, so he's been quite whiny, and has been throwing lots of fits.  I'm extremely grateful that he is taking a nap right now, because my patience was running a bit thin.

I've been wanting a pearl ring for quite a few years.  I really don't remember what sparked it, but I found a few a couple of years ago online that I've had my eye on.  I glanced again a few weeks back, and I noticed their offices are in NYC, so I called and set up an appointment to go try on a few to see if I really did like them or what looked best.  I absolutely love this ring...maybe in like 10 years S. will buy it for me:)

  1. I LOVE that ring. This post got me teary. It feels so good to know that there's someone else going through the exact same thing that I am. We can do it! :)

  2. We will be flying to San Juan for Chris' wedding that Friday while y'all are flying home to Texas.

Have a great last few weeks in NYC and Godspeed.

  3. I can see why it will be hard for you to leave NYC. We were only there for a few days and I still think about that place. It was surprising how beautiful the views of the city are. I love watching "Selling New York" just to see the city. We are having a spring thunderstorm day here is Texas. I am thinking of y'all. Love Mom
