We made it to Disney--Magic Kingdom! We had a blast! N. loved it and talks about it all the time. We loved seeing him smile so much and be amazed. P. stayed with my sister--thank you so much, Lacey--it would have been difficult with P. and not near as much fun. It was also fun to have a day to focus entirely on N! We arrived around 10, and didn't leave until 10 that night. N. was amazing--he threw no fits, walked the whole time (we planned on renting a stroller, but he was fine, and only complained once), skipped lunch to ride more rides (we didn't eat until 3--I was starving, but he insisted, on one more ride, and then another), and was very patient waiting for the rides. I had been to Disney as a kid a few times, but S. had never been. S. enjoyed the magic of Disney, the atmosphere, and even talked of coming again as a family and staying in the park, so we could do more of Disney. I enjoyed the nostalgia of the park and memories from when I was a kid. Most of all, it was great to watch my own kid enjoy it, and be so excited and amazed about everything!
Our first ride (predetermined by N. who had been looking at maps of the park weeks prior to our trip) was the steam train--it was also his favorite!
So, N.'s requirement of Disney was to see Mickey and ride the train, so we stood in line to see Mickey, and of course, when it's his turn, he becomes completely shy, and won't get close--typical N. style!
The Speedway--N.'s first driving attempt--S. says he needs some more practice!
Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover--basically a train/tram that took us on a tour of tomorrowland--he loved it! His real smile...
Love this pic--yawning, but plotting his next ride, while we waited for the jungle cruise!
Jungle cruise--I was acting dramatic and scared of the animals, and he says, "Mom, they're not real, they're pretend."
Eating sugar sticks for Atticus--those were his favorite when he went to Disney, so we had to have some--they were delish!
The Teacups--we had a blast--we were both giggling the whole time--and he couldn't keep his eyes open when the flash went off!
Waiting for the steam train to arrive...
The train is coming!
Light parade
Family pic--finally getting ready to leave and realized we hadn't taken a pic of all of us!
N. with his souvenir. He knew exactly what he wanted when we walked into the store! He picked Mickey, and I said we need to find a smaller one, but S. sprung for this one. I guess I was just used to when we came as a kid, and we had a budget of $10! He was so excited, and now Mickey sleeps with him every night, listens to music with him in the morning, and gets shown to just about anyone who comes over to our place.
Within about 30 seconds of sitting in his carseat, he was out--completely exhausted, but happy!
*A few randoms...While riding the steam train, N. saw the big thunder mountain railroad roller coaster, and said he wanted to ride that. He was tall enough, so we decided to go. He sat between us, but it was a little too intense for him--the whole time, he was saying it's too fast, I don't like this, there's no one driving the train(it is a runaway mine train after all). He also wasn't a fan of the pirates of the caribbean--he was hiding in my jacket and freaking out about how dark it was. S. liked that one though!
A few other rides/shows we loved were the Monster's Inc laugh floor, buzz lightyear, the magic carpets, both parades, mickey's philharmagic show, and of course the monorail to get to the park.
LOVE the pictures! You can tell he has such a good time. Glad he got to eat a "sugar stick!"
