I know I've mentioned before that N. studies famous artists at his preschool. He has really loved learning about the artists and painting like them. Before spring break, his school hosted "An Evening of Art." All of the children's art was displayed from the year in the hallways. They started out in their classrooms and sang a song with Mrs. Cherry about all their artists and what they painted. Then they had has enter the gym where there were all kinds of activities set up to do--sculpting, painting, cutting, gluing, puzzles, drawing, building with blocks, reading, etc. Once that was through, we walked through the hallways and looked at all of N.'s art from the year. Afterwards, we got ice cream cones at Braums. It was a great night and so fun to do something as a family. (side note--they are going to send all of his artwork home at the end of the year in a portfolio--so at the age of 3, my little N. will have his own art portfolio--kind of cool:)
We love Mrs. Cherry!
Painted trees like Rousseau
Painted squares and rectangles like Mondrian
Painted the birds (flamingo) like John James Audubon
