David's BBQ
Yesterday, we were watching a show on PBS about this guy that takes a day trip from Austin and shows you some unique things to do--he ate at two different BBQ places that looked absolutely delicious and made us (especially S.) crave BBQ. We had a wedding open house to go to in Arlington that evening, so we decided as S. put it to make a "pilgrimage" to David's BBQ. It was so yummy. There's been a few times lately when I'm like what's so great about Texas--it's hot and the landscape isn't so pretty where we are(I really don't mean to be blasphemous, I am a Texas after all), and S. simply said last night at dinner that BBQ is what's so great about Texas and I have to agree. N. agrees too. He couldn't get enough brisket and beans. Before each bite, he had to put more sauce on it (since he loved it so much and watched his mommy and daddy put tons of sauce on each bite.) As we were driving away, N. was upset and kept saying "meat and beans." I think S's a bit proud of his son for loving the BBQ so much--I guess he really is a true Texan:)
