N's b-day party

To celebrate N turning 1, we had a little family get together. We enjoyed yummy hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, fruit, and of course cupcakes and ice cream. I actually made the cupcakes and frosting from scratch, and they turned out pretty good--well at least N liked them! N enjoyed playing with his aunt and having all his family around. He was quite the party animal. When it came time to open presents, N wanted nothing to do with it. He was too busy playing, but once he noticed some new toys, he got really excited. He was rolling around in his new blanket, pulling out his new blocks, glancing at his new quiet book, riding on his new racer, and pushing around his bus(he loves buses). After that excitement, it was time for cake and ice cream. N wasn't the least bit shy and started by sticking his fingers in the frosting, and then took some massive bites of ice cream. He of course was a mess by the end, but loved it. Overall, it was a great party...Thanks to our family for coming to celebrate and the thoughtful gifts!

This pic pretty much summarizes present opening--N wanted nothing to do with it, so I was like do whatever you want!
