(apparently this is his cool pose:)!
- Is a soccer man through and through--has been playing since he was 4 1/2; he tends to be a creature of routine, so I think that's way he kept choosing soccer at first; when I asked him in the fall if he wanted to try a different sport, he said, no, soccer is my thing. He has a great coach and a good group of boys he's been playing with for 2 years now and is even trying an indoor soccer league with the same coach for this summer; he plays midfield or goalie and spent most of this spring season being team captain and helping the other kids know where they should be on the field, so I guess this officially makes me a soccer mom, and I do love to watch me some soccer!
- Excels in academics at school, school comes easy for him now; he is an excellent reader--reads both at night in his bed and in the morning with his flashlight
- Loves chess--tried out for the chess puzzle UIL academic team at school in the fall, made the team, had practice for a few months, than an academic meet with 5 other school districts in which he placed 1st among 2nd graders. We were super proud of him. I still don't know how to play chess, and he really wants to teach me, so hopefully I can work past this prego and mom brain and figure it out
- Loves his brothers--in fact, he doesn't want E. to grow up, because he's says E. is so cute and fun right now; Him and P. do just about everything together and get along really well. I'm grateful that they all love each other and seem to get along most of the time. N. loves to give his brother hugs, kisses, and raspberries
- Fave toys are legos and hot wheels
- Really tries to do the right thing and be kind to everyone...as parents we are probably too hard on him being the oldest, but he really is a great kid, with a good sense of what is right
- Is excited to be baptized this summer into our church--we've had some sweet moments with him in which he has felt the Spirit and been able to recognize what he is feeling; we've been reading the book of mormon for a few years now at night with the kids, he is was so excited to reach the book of helaman--we're getting there, not done yet, but about 2/3rds of the way through, he even tries to read on his own too
- Is a big helper...is really good at sweeping up piles into the dustpan since I can't bend so well right now; likes to have his room clean, but really likes to boss P. around to clean it
- Fave dinner is orange chicken--Eats PB&J and grapes, a granola bar, and some kind of crunchy everyday for lunch
- Loves being with family; Aunt McKenna and him are awesome friends
- Loves to play the wii--his brothers love to watch or play with him
- Loves to have dance parties with his brothers
- Just got a rubiks cube--apparently everyone in 2nd grade has one, and has spent a ton of time the past few days trying to figure it out...we've watched a few tutorials on the steps to solve it, and he has gotten further along than I ever have
