december in pics not including christmas

Just chillin' before church, making pretend ice cream cones...N.'s in the background putting on his belt--always the rush to get out of the house on time;)
Just some brother fun--pulling each other in the tiny wagon meant to pull toys, not people...
Go, P. Go!
 choco-chip pancake face...
So, in a quick summary, our power went out at 5am in the morning on friday, due to the ice storm, it got really cold quick, I texted Cindy to see if we could crash at her place until it came back on...she graciously let us stay nice and warm at her place, kept us busy with making sugar cookies, playtime, and chit-chat.  We stayed the night with them, but didn't want to impose any longer, so we decided to tough it out at home, that didn't last terribly long, because P. was shivering and I was cold and miserable too.  It's one things to tough it out in the cold with just adults, but with kids who don't want to stay bundled up right next to the fire, it's hard. So, we crashed at Cindy's again, only to have N. wake up in the middle of the night 3 different times with diarrhea--we didn't want to get any of them sick, so we packed up our stuff, and decided to try to venture to my parents--the roads were looking better than the previous day.  We made it there, spent that day and night with them, then left for home monday morning...we were so relieved to be home and actually have power--you don't realize how much you rely on electricity until it's gone.  It was a super stressful weekend, but we are REALLY grateful for friends and family who took care of us.

All bundled up to go deliver cookies to the neighbors...
 P. looks so cold...I needed to buy him some mittens--I have now, but was obviously not prepared for this storm...
Toughing it out at home was fun for a brief while, as N. belted out Christmas songs to his battery powered cd player (thankfully we had enough batteries)...including Why am I such a biscuit--really supposed to be misfit.  We at least got some good laughs out of that.
 Dancing around...
 S. tried to put P. in his really warm sleeping bag to help him get warm of course, and he was not having it...at this point, I was like we can't do this anymore...
 Time at my family's---playing a game...P. was a basketball...
 P. takes naps about every other day or so...the other days he plays in his crib, talks, etc--doesn't usually cry much...this particular day, I go to get him, and he had thrown everything out of his crib, and somehow taken off his tight thermal pajamas.  At least he still had on a diaper.
 Painting Christmas pics...
S.'s work had their holiday party at the perot museum--this was a cool spinning wheel that you could make light up with whatever you wanted--I like it.  Queen Qualls loves King Qualls!
Our cheesey commemorative pic from the work party...
 N. was up at 5:30 am one morning keeping busy making a christmas list to santa--he cut all these out and stuck them in his stocking...
We pulled out the exersaucer for my sister to use for her baby, and P. decided it made quite a fun toy for him--he would spend 30+ minutes in it--crazy thing...
N.'s Christmas party--making beaded candy canes...
 Book exchange game...
Tree at the Galleria--one of our traditions...
Santa Claus--P.'s expression is so cute...
Just eating dinner like everyone does in our sunglasses right?
